Writers' Guidelines
Please consult the following guidelines when submitting copy and/or artwork:

  • "Continuing Education" articles or modules must have at least one author or planner with an advanced RN degree of BSN or MSN.
  • Infection Control Education Institute adheres to the American Medical Association Manual of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook. Please keep in mind that your work will be edited to conform to these journalistic styles.
  • Please write as objectively as possible. Any references to commercial products or medical devices will be removed by the editors in order to keep the text unbiased toward certain manufacturers.
  • The average word count is approximately 2,500 to 3,500 words.
  • Please supply properly formatted references, as well as a two- or three-sentence bio about yourself and a color photograph (which will be returned). If you would like to submit a photo via e-mail, please ensure that it is a jpeg of at least 300 dpi and a minimum of 3" by 3".
  • We prefer that the document be submitted in Microsoft Word or a basic text file. Please do not use two spaces between sentences and please do not use underlining. Text must be submitted electronically via e-mail or submitted on a diskette.
  • Your coursework should be accompanied by a test of 10, 20 or 25 true/false questions, as well as answers to the test and a list of three to five objectives.
  • Any photos that accompany the text can be submitted as color prints, slides or transparencies. We prefer digital images, saved as a TIF or JPG file in Adobe PhotoShop. The photo submitted must be a minimum of 3 inches by 3 inches and have a resolution of 300 dpi.
  • Upon acceptance of your coursework, we reserve the right to publish it inside Infection Control Today Magazine, Infection Control Education Institute website, EndoNurse Magazine and the EndoNurse Institute website.
